On Thursday, January 19, 2012 my sweet hubby and I became grandparents for the first time. I can't begin to tell you how many photographs we took of our children growing up over the years. With the new arrival of our first grandchild we begin another long and wonderful photo shoot. I still like taking black and white photos the best.

My favorite cowboy

My favorite cowboy
This black and white photo was taken with a 35 mm camera in the late 1970's. It is one of my all time favorite photographs. It was a result of an assignment for a photography class I was taking at the time. I was learning to develop my own film in the dark room so I needed to shoot with black and white. My dad posed for this photo while standing inside his old truck just at the top of the tailgate during a gymkhana. He was always a willing subject and one of my favorite people to photograph. The fly on his hat was just along for the ride.
